For PTO and school events

Book fair, field day, fall festival, picture day. School events need bodies in specific windows, and a paper clipboard in the front office never reaches the parents who would say yes.

Three steps, about a minute

1

Pick the event and windows

Use the school's schedule. "Field day, 9-10:30am station 3" tells a parent exactly what they are agreeing to.

2

Set spots per shift

Say how many helpers each station needs. Thin shifts are visible, so people fill the gaps instead of the easy slots.

3

Send it through your usual channel

Newsletter, class list, or PTO group. One link, and reminders land before the volunteer's shift.

Why PTOs switch to it

Fits how schools run

Shifts, stations, and rotations map straight onto rows with spots. No spreadsheet gymnastics.

Fewer no-shows

Reminders go out before each shift, which matters when someone signed up a month before field day.

You control who sees it

Keep it link-only for a class, add a passcode for a committee, or make it public in the newsletter.

Questions

How do I make a school volunteer sign-up?

Create a Pip, choose the sign-up list, and add one row per shift with the event, time window, and station. Set spots per shift and share the link through your newsletter or class lists. Volunteers claim a shift with a name and a contact.

How do I get more parents to volunteer?

Ask for small, specific, time-bound jobs. A 90-minute window with a named station gets far more takers than an open call for help. Sharing the link where parents already read, like the class group or newsletter, matters as much as the sheet.

Do volunteers need a background check?

Many districts require a background check or a signed volunteer form before an adult works with students. Check your school's policy and note the requirement in the sheet title so people handle it in advance.

Can I run one sheet for a multi-day event?

Yes. Put the day in each row name, for example "Wed, checkout 9-11am," and everything for the event stays on one link.

Can I see who signed up and reach them?

Yes. As the organizer you see every claimed shift with the contact each volunteer left, so you can message the people on a specific day.

Is it free for a PTO to use?

Yes. Creating and sharing sign-ups is free, with no ads or pop-ups in front of your school families.
