Every September a class parent tries to build a contact list, and it ends up as a spreadsheet anyone with the link can read, download, or forward. Pip does it the other way around: each family adds their own details, chooses what to share, and nobody sees the roster until you approve them.
Three steps, about a minute
Name the class and set a code
One roster per class, plus a short class code. The link on its own shows nothing, so a forwarded message is useless to anyone outside the class.
Families add themselves
Parent names, child's name, and a phone number or email — with a checkbox for each one they're willing to share. No accounts, no app.
You approve each family
New entries sit as pending and reveal nothing about the class. Approve the families you recognize and they get access to the roster.

Why this is safer than a spreadsheet
The roster is invisible without the code you send the class, so a stray link leaks nothing.
A new entry can't see the roster — not even a family count — until you approve it.
Families choose whether to share a phone number, an email, or just a name.
Approved families in this class, and you. Pip never sells personal information.
Families just open the link and enter the class code. No passwords, no downloads, and nothing new to sign up for.
Remove one family or close the whole roster when the year ends. You're in control of how long it stays online.
Questions
Is the class roster free?
Yes. Making a roster, collecting opt-ins, and approving families are all free — no Pip Plus needed.
What if the link gets forwarded to someone outside the class?
They see the roster name and a prompt for the class code, nothing else. Even with the code, a new entry stays pending until you approve it, so they learn nothing about the class.
Do parents need an account?
No. A family opens the link, enters the class code, and adds their details. Only the organizer needs a free Pip account.
Can a family remove their information later?
Any time, from the same link — and you can remove an entry on request too. Deletion is immediate.
